Based in Shawnee
Mission, Kansas, The Flat Mountain Boys play
traditional bluegrass, country, and gospel
music. FMB
banjo player, Lowell, has been playing
music for decades, and is just as
dangerous with a guitar as he is the
5-string. Lowell also sings and has
had a hand in writing most of the FMB
original tunes.

At home with an acoustic or an
electric axe, FMB guitarist Brent,
also carries most of our
lead vocals. He is quick to spot
opportunities
and arranges most
of our shows. Additionally, Brent is
quite a wordsmith and has contributed to
the FMB original tunes.

Patrick plays
the mandolin and occasional
fiddle, and is the FMB resident road
warrior, as he spends most of his
days in Columbia, MO. He
prefers to harmonize subtly in bass
or baritone, or in ranges only dogs
can hear (humans appreciate
this). He enjoys a good rhyme
and has also contributed to the FMB
original tunes.

Adding to
our vocal talent in 2014 is Miss Amber
from Lawrence, KS. She has been
singing since her high school days "in
every choir you could think of," and
attended college on a vocal
scholarship. As a Monstessori
preschool teacher, she often used singing
as a means of teaching. She also
competed for a spot on American Idol. |
